Next Up: Achilles and Patroclus
We are seeking six actors for our staged reading of Achilles and Patroclus, an original re-telling of the famous Greek myth. The following roles are available:
- Achilles - male-presenting, a warrior
- Patroclus - male-presenting, a warrior
- Diotima - female-presenting, a priestess and philosopher
- Iphigenia - female-presenting, a young martyr
- Tiresias - gender non-conforming, a prophet
- Ganymede - gender non-conforming, prince of Troy
If you're interested, read through the audition guidelines and send your material to felix@lamplighttheater.co. Please note which characters you would like to be considered for, as well as any conflicts you may have between June 23rd and June 29th. Auditions are due on June 20th. Our tentative schedule is as follows:
- June 23rd-28th (Mon-Sat): Rehearsals from 6PM to 10PM at TWU's Redbud Theater Complex in Denton, TX
- June 29th (Sun): Tech begins at 7PM at Harvest House, show begins at 9PM
If you cannot attend every rehearsal, please let us know — it will not necessarily prevent you from being cast. Once we complete casting, we will review actor conflicts and create our final schedule accordingly.
Audition Guidelines
Our productions are a mix of traditional stage work, reader’s theater, and radio drama—so we welcome performers from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Whether you’re a seasoned actor or just getting started, we invite you to send in an audition.
If you would like to be considered for an upcoming production, please submit a tape (or audio clip) of yourself performing a one-minute classical monologue, along with your headshot and resume. If you would prefer to audition in person, reach out to us to schedule an appointment.
