Founded in Denton, TX, our mission is to adapt culturally significant literature (theatrical and otherwise) for contemporary audiences. We study and dramatize canonical texts—such as Beowulf, Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, Sir Gawain & The Green Knight, and The Tragedie of Macbeth—bringing these iconic works to life through thoughtful research and dynamic stage and radio productions.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that literature belongs to everyone—not just in classrooms or journals, but out in the world where it can be encountered and felt. To this end, all Lamplight Theater Company productions and broadcasts are offered free of charge. Our doors are open to anyone who wishes to listen.
